CONSULTATION ON KING EDWARD VII ACADEMY ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2027 ENTRY
The Inspiration Trust is consulting on a change to the aptitude oversubscription criteria for King Edward VII Academy. The following change is proposed:
Introduction of sporting aptitude alongside existing musical aptitude, with each representing up to 5% of the Published Admission Number (PAN).
Currently, King Edward VII Academy may select up to 10% of pupils based on aptitude in music. We are proposing to amend this to:
- Up to 5% based on aptitude in music (11 places)
- Up to 5% based on aptitude in sport (11 places)
This means the academy would continue to select up to 10% of pupils in total based on aptitude (5% music and 5% sport) from September 2027 onwards.

The consultation period runs from Monday 17th November 2025 until Sunday 11th January 2026. You can give your views on the proposed arrangements in the following ways:
- Completing the online response form
- Emailing: governance@inspirationtrust.org quoting ‘King Edward VII Academy consultation admissions 2027 entry’ in the subject header
- Writing to: Head of Governance, Inspiration Trust Central Offices, Hall Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2PW
At the end of the consultation period, the Inspiration Trust Board of Trustees will meet to consider all responses received by the closing date. They will carefully review all feedback and take this into account when making their final decision.
Admission arrangements for 2027 entry will be determined by the 28th February 2026 and will be published on the academy website by the 15th March 2026.
Please note that any changes made to comply with the mandatory law of the School Admissions Code and School Admissions Appeal Code are exempt from comment.

The consultation regarding the proposal to change the Year 12 Published Admission Number (PAN) is now closed. The Inspiration Trust Board of Trustees will consider the consultation responses against the case for change. The determined admission arrangements for September 2026 entry will be published by 15th March 2025.

Change to the length of the school day at King Edward VII Academy from September 2024
The Inspiration Trust consulted on the proposal to change the length of the school day at King Edward VII Academy from September 2024. The consultation received 74 responses. The Inspiration Trust Board of Trustees considered the consultation responses against the case for change. The Board of Trustees agreed to determine that the length of the school day will change from the 5th September 2024.
